Foundation approves funding FIT Training Program Relief Grant

Now more than ever ACAAI Foundation donors will be making a positive impact on the future of allergy-immunology, since the Foundation Board approved a $100,000 two-year Fellow-in-Training Program Relief Grant for 2012-2013. 

Support of this FIT stipend is made possible by donors like Richard Weber, MD, FACAAI, who recently achieved 10K Club status for his contributions of at least $10,000, and Mark Minor, MD, FACAAI, and Nathan Segall, MD, FACAAI, who achieved 5K Club status for their contributions of at least $5,000. 

Other members of the 10K Club are Sami Bahna, MD, DrPH, FACAAI, Emil Bardana, Jr., MD, FACAAI, Joseph Bellanti, MD, FACAAI, Bradley Chipps, MD, FACAAI, Lawrence DuBuske, MD, FACAAI, David Engler, MD, FACAAI, Stanley Fineman, MD, MBA, FACAAI, Bobby Lanier, MD, FACAAI, Linda Ford, MD, AE-C, FACAAI, Richard Gower, MD, FACAAI, Phillip Lieberman, MD, FACAAI, Alnoor Malick, MD, FACAAI, Kathleen May, MD, FACAAI, Edward O’Connell, MD, FACAAI, Dana Wallace, MD, FACAAI, and Betty Wray, MD, FACAAI. The Foundation website includes a complete list of all donors including 10K Club and 5K Club members, information about joining, planned giving programs and Tithe-a-Talk. The Tithe-a-Talk program makes it easy to donate honoraria from your speaking engagement.  

The Jean Chapman Endowment Fund for Education was established to help support fellows-in-training travel grants. In times of bereavement, you can request donations be made, in lieu of flowers, to help advance the care of allergy and immunology.

In addition to the Fellow-in-Training Program Relief Grants, the Foundation supports Young Faculty Support awards, Scholar’s Return awards.

We hope you will consider making a cash donation, bequest, a donation of royalties from speaking engagements, or a contribution on your next ACAAI dues statement. Enjoying camaraderie during the annual ACAAI Fundraising Dinner at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston were (from left) Mrs. Beverly and Dr. Robert Dockhorn, past president, and Mrs. Ellen Portnoy, Alliance president-elect, and Dr. Jay Portnoy, past president. The event, which included gallery tours, musical performances and dancing, benefited the ACAAI Foundation.
