Distinguished Fellow Award - 2011

Dr. Kathleen May has been in private practice at Allegany Allergy & Asthma in Cumberland, Maryland, for 15 years. She served on the ACAAI Board of Regents, 2005-08, and was its FIT Representative, 1993-95.  As chair of the Website Content Committee she was instrumental in launching the new website and continues to orchestrate its daily updates and renewal.  She co-chairs the Membership Recruitment Committee, and is a member of the Marketing Task Force where she serves as spokesperson.  Dr. May has been actively involved with the FIT Bowl Planning Committee since 1993, and serves on the AllergyWatch Editorial Board.  She is a member of the Acorn Committee, Annual Program Committee, Continuing Medical Education Committee, Communications Council and Women in Allergy Committee, previously serving as its chair. She also chaired the Young Physicians Committee, served as an ad hoc reviewer for the Practice Parameters, was on the Editorial Board of Annals of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology, served on the Conjoint Board Review Course Committee, and was part of the course faculty.  

Dr. James Sublett is a clinical professor and the section chief of Pediatric Allergy at the University of Louisville School of Medicine, and managing partner of Family Allergy and Asthma with offices in Louisville, Kentucky, and southern Indiana. He is a clinical investigator with Family Allergy & Asthma Research Institute and founder and chairman of Allergy Zone, LLC. He served on the ACAAI Board of Regents, 2006-09, and currently chairs the Communications Council, the Marketing Task Force and the Public Relations Committee. He is vice chair of the Indoor Environment Committee, co-chair of the Practice Parameters Committee on Environmental Controls, and he serves on the Editorial Board for the Annals of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology. He is a member of the Task Force on Website, Workgroup to Explore Developing School-Based Asthma Screening Program, Asthma Measures Subcommittee, Pediatrics Committee, Symposia Committee, Membership Recruitment Committee. Dr. Sublett is president of the Joint Council of Allergy, Asthma, & Immunology (JCAAAI) and is on the ACAAI/AAAAI Joint Task Force for Asthma Quality Assurance.
