Geriatrics
Purpose:
The Geriatrics Committee monitors, provides recommendations to the Board of Regents and implements programs in the area of allergy and asthma among seniors.
Current projects include:
- Develop a presence with AARP and the American Geriatric Society to present the allergist’s viewpoint and to cross-seminate knowledge
- Development of a survey for Fellows-in-Training to assess satisfaction in training in geriatric allergy
- Develop with industry a study on the use of anti-IgE in the elderly
- Develop a study to assess allergy testing methods to determine the most successful method to assess allergy in the elderly
