How Do I Find an Allergist?
The American College of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology offers two convenient ways to find an allergist near you.
Online Locator
One method is only a few mouse clicks away. By entering a zip code or a city, state and street address on the Allergist Locator, you will be given a list of up to eight nearby allergists, their addresses and phone numbers and the driving distance to each office. The Allergist Locator also will draw a map of the locations of the allergists. The map can be manipulated by zooming in on a neighborhood street grid or out to view the entire region. You can print out both the list and the map.
Allergists who have asterisks (***) in the "Certified" column are certified by the American Board of Allergy & Immunology (ABAI). Certification requires successful completion of at least a two-year education program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) and an evaluation process that includes an examination designed to assess the knowledge, skills and experience required to provide quality patient care to children and adults in the specialty of allergy and immunology. ABAI specialists also are certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) and/or the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP) after three years of post-graduate accredited training.
Telephone Referral
The ACAAI also operates a nationwide allergist referral service through a toll-free number:
1-800-842-7777
Callers can receive by mail the names, addresses and telephone numbers of board-certified allergists who practice in their vicinity.
